How to prepare for a first meeting with a wealth adviser
For a first exchange, the aim is to make your need understandable. You can come with a still imprecise project: it is not necessary to prepare a complete file or to choose an investment in advance.

1. Start with what brings you
A sale, inheritance, departure abroad or retirement that approaches does not raise the same questions. Note the event that leads you to look for an interlocutor and the decision you hesitate to make.
Try to finish this sentence: "At the end of the first exchange, I'd like to understand better..." A concrete question facilitates discussion, even if you don't know the answer yet.
- The change or project that brings about
- The decision I want to clarify
- The date on which this decision is taken
2. Describe an overview, without detail
Locate the major components: professional activity, real estate, investments, debts, people to be protected. This first inventory is used to identify topics that intersect. It does not require an exhaustive estimate of each asset.
The contact form of the site does not request a statement of account or a specific amount. If parts are required then their usefulness and the method of wealth transfer will be specified with your contact person.
- The major components of my wealth
- My commitments and projects to be financed
- People and professionals already involved
3. Ask questions about accompanying
Before you commit, ask what work is proposed, what it understands and what requires the intervention of another professional. Also clarify the terms of remuneration and any costs.
The registration or professional status is verified in the competent register. This verification covers a specific activity and scope; it does not guarantee the performance of an investment.
- Proposed mission scope
- The method of remuneration and costs
- Next steps and the necessary interlocutors
4. What you can expect from the first exchange
The first meeting with Martins Patrimoine lasts 40 minutes. It helps us understand your needs, identify what to investigate and agree on possible next steps. It does not automatically include a full audit, written report or investment recommendation.
You remain free not to continue. If a mission is being considered, its scope and conditions are presented before your engagement. Keep your checklist: it can also be used to compare the clarity of the responses received.
